At First Baptist Groveport, small groups are the vehicle through which people connect to each other. Our goal is to provide life-giving environments where people are encouraged and grow spiritually through prayer, Bible study, fellowship, and service. We encourage every member of our church to join a small group! Joining a small group allows you to build deep, genuine friendships other church members and will help you deepen your walk with Jesus.

Groups vary widely according to age, gender, study topic, and meeting time and location. No matter where you're starting from, there's a group to fit you! We offer the following options for small groups:

  • Kairos (online)
  • Sunday Morning Groups (meet at the church at 9 AM)
  • Home Groups (coming soon!)

We would love to help you find a place where you feel comfortable, challenged, and loved. Keep reading to find a group that best fits you!

Kairos (Online Bible Study)

  • When: Tuesday evenings from 7 - 8 pm
  • Where: Room 104, or online from your home!
  • Who: All Ages!

The Greek word "Kairos" means "Opportunity." On Tuesday nights, we've created Kairos: a low-key, intimate opportunity to take a time out from the rest of life and focus only on Jesus. We sing a few worship songs and study a passage of Scripture together. No matter the struggles you may be facing, Jesus loves you and is calling you to Himself.

Kairos sets itself apart from your usual small group because we actually stream it online! As long as you have a smart phone or a computer with a webcam, you can take part in the discussion as though you were in the room, all from the comfort of your own home! If you have small children to care for, the weather is frigid or stormy, or any other reason that could cause you to miss a different small group, Kairos will be there for you! Email kairosbiblestudy@gmail.com for information on how to access the live stream, or check out our Facebook page for the link. See you online!

Sunday Morning Groups

Ray Mullins: Explore the Bible

For men & women. Meets Sundays at 9 AM in Room 103.

For every Christian, a deep knowledge of the Word helps make the difference between a shallow faith and a life of trust and obedience. Explore the Bible is a book-by-book study for groups of all ages that takes participants deep into the context of God's Word and challenges them to live it out in their own context.

February: Judges and Ruth; God is active. He is involved in the lives of His people. In this study, you will see that God has a plan and He fulfills His promises. You will learn that God uses the most unexpected of people to do extraordinary feats of power and grace. You will be encouraged that even in your darkest hour, God is moving on your behalf. You will be inspired to follow Him in faith.

Michelle Staley: Spiritual Disciplines for the Christian Life (Donald Whitney)

For ladies only. Meets Sunday mornings at 9 AM in Room 107.

Donald Whitney outlines an entire new perspective on the spiritual disciplines, presenting them as a means to unparalleled spiritual liberty rather than being legalistic, restrictive, or binding (as they are often perceived). We experience why the disciplines (prayer, Bible intake, worship, evangelism, etc.) are important, and how each one will help us grow in godliness. Freedom is the reward of discipline, and the purpose of discipline is godliness. Join us as we grow together!
